Teeth Whitening: The Process
Step One
After a full consultation ensuring that you are suitable for teeth whitening your Pearlys clinician will make a note of the current shade of your teeth using a dental shade guide.
Step Two
You will be shown how to take a simple impression of your teeth which will be used by our Pearlys laboratory to fabricate bespoke trays for use at home.
Step Three
A cheek retractor is put into your mouth to comfortably hold your lips and tongue away from your teeth. Next a gel is applied to the top and bottom millimetre of your teeth and hardened with an ultra violet light. This becomes a protective barrier for the gums.
Step Four
Whitening gel is applied to the front teeth, usually the front top and bottom 10 teeth can be reached during in-clinic whitening. The whitening gel is activated with a plasma light for 8-10 minutes whilst you relax and listen to some music.
Step Five
Step four is repeated 2 more times to complete the in-clinic part of your treatment. Your post laser teeth shade will then be assessed and compared with your pre-laser shade. Your Pearlys homekit will be available a few days later to either further lighten your teeth, if that’s what you want, or to maintain your white bright smile over the future months.
